The Academic Testing Center at 黑料正能量 provides a variety of testing services to support students, applicants, and community members. Explore the information below to learn about scheduling, requirements, policies, and resources for each type of test.
Placement Testing

Schedule an appointment using the button below.
Students need their WCC ID number to register for a placement test. Acceptable forms of ID are:聽Driver鈥檚 License,聽State鈥揳pproved or federal ID,聽Military ID,聽Middle or High School ID,聽College ID,聽USA (UNITED STATES) Passport,聽Foreign Passport with the student’s name written in the Western alphabet,聽Tribal ID, or聽Naturalization Card or certificate of citizenship.

Testing Policies
- Students must present a valid photo ID to take the placement test.
- Students who arrive late by 15 minutes or more of their scheduled appointment time will be required to reschedule testing.
- Students who require special testing accommodations must contact , Accessibility Counselor, at least three (3) days prior to testing at 919-739-6729. All testing accommodations must be approved by the Accessibility Counselor.
- Scratch paper and pencils will be provided by WCC; students may not bring their own scratch paper.
- Students may test twice but must wait at least seven (7) days in between testing. Students are encouraged to seek remediation before retesting. During registration, first time testers have priority over retest students.

You will be able to register to take FREE practice tests, improve your skill with learning resources, or download sample questions.聽 There are several tests that Accuplacer gives, but you will only be taking the READING and QUANTITATIVE REASONING tests.
WCC Release of Placement Test Score Information
The Federal Privacy Act requires written consent from students before聽the college聽can release their placement test scores. Please complete the Release of Placement Test Scores Form and mail or email it to the Academic Foundations department. Our mailing address and email are on the form for your convenience. Please allow at least 24 hours from the time of request before attempting to pick up your placement test scores in person.
TEAS Testing (Test of Essential Academic Skills)
If you are applying for the Associate Degree Nursing, Practical Nursing, or Dental Hygiene program, you may need to take the TEAS exam.
The TEAS exam is given at 黑料正能量 in February and October. Registration for the TEAS exam at Wayne will begin at the end of August and November. Check back at that time to register for the TEAS Test.聽 If you are unable to take it at Wayne you may take it directly from ATI (the test provider) by visiting . Information about the TEAS test including cost and study guides can also be found at聽.聽 黑料正能量 is just a testing site.
- Testers will need to bring a credit or debit card with them to the exam to pay ATI online before taking the exam.
- Students have to possess a valid 黑料正能量 ID or a State-issued ID.
- Before you schedule a TEAS exam, you must have completed the current application for the Allied Health program.
Advanced Standing Testing
The Advanced Standing Test is for students who have applied to the nursing program who already have an LPN.聽 Please see your admissions packet for full details about this test. This test will be given on Thursdays at 11 a.m. during the application period.
The Advanced Standing Test is computer-based and administered in the Wayne Learning Center Testing Center.聽You will have 110 minutes to take the test. Remember to bring a photo ID with you to the testing center.聽You may use a basic calculator and be provided a blank sheet of paper. In addition, you will need to provide a pencil. No other resources are allowed during the test.
NCRC Testing (National Career Readiness Certificate)
NCRC testing will be provided each month (days and times may vary) except December. To view the dates and times and register use the button below. Pre-registration is required at least one day before a scheduled test date.
Testing Fees
- The NCRC testing fee is $45.00. This fee covers the Applied Math, Graphic Literacy, and Workplace Documents NCRC assessments as well as access to print your Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum level certificate.
- To retake a single NCRC WorkKeys assessment, there is a retesting fee of $15.00 for each assessment.
- Acceptable forms of payment: Cash, Debit Cards, Credit Cards (MasterCard or Visa), or a Third-Party Payment. (A Third-Party Voucher Letter of Payment must be submitted to the test center before testing.)
NCRC Prep Course Available
If you would like to take a prep course prior to taking the NCRC test you can sign up for the course through WCC’s Workforce Continuing Education division.

Test Day
To ensure a smooth testing experience and complete the check-in process,
- Arrive at the testing center, Wayne Learning Center 216A, at least 30 minutes before your scheduled test time. Please note that once testing has begun, access to the testing center will not be allowed.
- You must present an acceptable, valid, and current photo ID. Examples: driver鈥檚 license, passport, school ID.
- Pay testing fees before arriving, and bring your receipt with you.
Request for Score Results
Great news! You can access all your WorkKeys and NCRC scores at any time. You may visit www.myworkkeys.com to view and print a copy of your scores whenever you need them. Instructions on how to obtain your scores are also available on the website. If you need help with your myworkkeys account, please contact ACT at 1-800-967-5539 or by email at act-reg@act.org.
Accessibility and Make-up Testing
Students can schedule make-up tests and retests with a referral from their instructor in the Academic Testing Center (ATC).
The ATC is open for make-up and retests:
- Mondays: 7:45am-4:00pm
- Tuesdays: 7:45am-4:00pm
- Wednesdays: 7:45am-4:00pm
- Thursdays: 7:45am-4:00pm
- Fridays: 9:00am-12pm
No make-up tests will be given when campus is closed or during school breaks.
Accessibility testing and make-up testing referrals are initiated by your instructor and can specify a specific day and time or allow you to schedule the appointment. No appointment will be scheduled without your instructor’s referral.
