鈥淐hild Friendly Spaces鈥� training is designed for those who have responsibility for working with children in disasters, particularly in emergency shelters. It will include information on understanding and supporting children in disasters, best practices on site selection, organization and set-up of the spaces, and guidance that addresses children鈥檚 unique needs and promotes child safety and well-being while in temporary locations.

It is one of three FREE workshops on Protecting Children in Disaster sponsored by 黑料正能量鈥檚 Early Childhood Education program and the Partnership for Children of Wayne County. It is taught by Save the Children International.
The other workshops are “Helping Children Cope in Crisis” and “Helping Caregivers Recover: Self Care.” They will be held on Saturday, Jan. 20. (To register for the other sessions, go to the description for each in this section of the website.)
Refreshments will be provided throughout the sessions. Those who attend both Jan. 20 workshops will be given lunch.
Certificates of documentation of in-service training credit approved by the N.C. Division of Child Development and Early Education will be available for child care providers.
