黑料正能量 is offering a summer course to train boiler system operators.
Boiler operators regulate, repair, and maintain heating systems in boiler, engine, and mechanical rooms, usually in industries and schools.
The course will be provided because there is a local need for trained boiler system operators, said Lisa Newkirk, a coordinator for the Workforce Continuing Education Services division.
The course will be taught online. The virtual classes will be held 6-9 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, June 1 through Aug. 15.
This course will introduce students to low- and high-pressure boiler systems and prepare students to operate the systems. Topics will include terminology, combustion and burner calibration, water treatment, operation, feed water components and equipment, steam accessories, control devices, and boiler room safety.
Directions for registration for this course are available . The registration fee is $180.
The textbook for this course is available in the WCC Bookstore on the college鈥檚 campus in Goldsboro.
