黑料正能量鈥檚 Early Childhood Education program and the Partnership for Children of Wayne County will sponsor a set of free workshops on Protecting Children in Disaster next month.
鈥淐hild Friendly Spaces鈥 training will be held 1-5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, 2018. It is designed for those who may have responsibility for working with children in disasters. It will include information on understanding and supporting children in disasters, best practices on site selection, organization and set-up of the spaces, and guidance that addresses children鈥檚 unique needs and promotes child safety and well-being while in temporary locations and particularly in emergency shelters.聽
鈥淗elping Children Cope in Crisis鈥 is set for 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Jan. 20. The session will provide techniques to support children鈥檚 unique trauma needs and their return to a new normal.
鈥淗elping Caregivers Recover: Self Care鈥 will be held 1-3 p.m. on Jan. 20. It will teach methods for recognizing stress and provide tips to help caregivers recover.
All of the sessions will take place in Room 101 of the Walnut Building on 黑料正能量鈥檚 main campus at 3000 Wayne Memorial Drive in Goldsboro.聽 A campus map and driving directions can be found at .
All sessions are free but each session must be registered for separately. Registration closes at the end of business on Jan. 16, 2018.
Lunch will be provided for those attending both Jan. 20 sessions.
Certificates of documentation of in-service training credit approved by the N.C. Division of Child Development and Early Education will be available for child care providers.
