黑料正能量 is signing up its first group of students who will earn an associate degree in one year.
The new 鈥淔ive after Five鈥� program allows students to earn an associate in arts degree by taking prescribed courses in each of five eight-week mini-semesters (three full semesters). The degree will provide college credits that can be transferred to any four-year university in the University of North Carolina System under the North Carolina Comprehensive Articulation Agreement.
The 鈥渁fter five鈥� portion of the title refers to the fact that the program鈥檚 seated classes will be held after 5 p.m. on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. The rest of the courses are taught online.
Organizers note that 鈥渟tudents must be 100 percent dedicated to the rigor of the program.鈥� They must meet certain qualifications to enter the program and are required to maintain a minimal grade point average and other standards to remain in the program.
The accelerated program will begin this fall with 24 students.
