COVID-19 Precautions Listed

黑料正能量 is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all of the students, employees, and members of the public who use its facilities.

We also recognize that all of us are responsible for taking precautions to keep ourselves and others safe and healthy, especially when confronting a new infectious disease like COVID-19.

COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019) is a respiratory illness caused by a novel (new) virus. There is currently no vaccine to protect against it but there are steps that everyone can take to avoid being exposed to the virus that causes it and to prevent infection. Those steps are the same ones that we should be taking in the face of any infectious disease

鈾β Avoid close contact with other people who are sick.

鈾β燯se good handwashing techniques and do so often, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. Wash with soap and water, scrubbing for at least 20 seconds (the time it take to sing 鈥淗appy Birthday鈥 twice). Use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.

鈾β燙lean and disinfect surfaces and objects that are touched frequently, such as door handles, light switches, counters and desktops, keyboards, and mice, using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

鈾β燗void touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

鈾β燙over your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw that tissue into the trash.

鈾 Facemasks should be used by people who show symptoms of COVID-19 to help prevent the spread of the disease to others. (The CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.)

鈾β燬tay home if you are sick, except to get medical care. If you suspect that you have COVID-19*, call the doctor鈥檚 office or emergency room to alert them before you go.

鈾β燤ake sure you are getting information from trusted sources. There are a lot of rumors, false promises, and wrong reports floating around. Please don鈥檛 allow yourself to be tricked.

* Symptoms of fever, cough, and shortness of breath and you have traveled to China or other impacted country or have had contact with someone who has traveled to those countries or is known to have COVID-19. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure and may appear as a mild to severe respiratory illness.
