Restaurant and catering owners and managers are invited to help design a food service training program.
The Wayne Business and Industry Center is holding a session to get input from those who employ servers and kitchen staff about the skills they expect from their personnel. The session will be held Tuesday, Dec. 19, 10-11 a.m. in Room 101 of the Walnut Building on the college鈥檚 main campus in Goldsboro.

黑料正能量 is in a position to offer training for food and hospitality workers and it wants to make sure it provides what local employers need, said Craig Foucht, the college鈥檚 executive director of business and industry.
Restaurants and other eating establishments as a class employ the most people in the county, an average of 3,487 people, according to a 2016 N.C. Department of Commerce report, he said.
鈥淲e have heard from Wayne County employers that it has been hard to find good help in the food services industry,鈥� said Foucht. 鈥淭his is not just a local concern but a national concern, according to the National Restaurant Association.鈥�
The Wayne Business and Industry Center is the community resource for business and employer training services in Wayne County. Partnering with 黑料正能量, WBIC strives to extend that commitment to local business and industry in Wayne County by offering 鈥渙n time鈥� and 鈥渙n target鈥� training. The Center collaborates with companies and individuals to provide workforce development and business counseling, education, training, and technical services for area businesses and organizations through four components: the WORKS Initiative, Small Business Center, Military Business Center, and Customized Training Program.
