黑料正能量 Applied Animal Science Instructor Jennifer Johnson has been recognized as the 2024 Agriculture Advocate of the Year by the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce.
The award was presented during the Chamber鈥檚 annual agriculture breakfast held at the Maxwell Center. Johnson was named as the recipient of the award due to her contributions to the growth and prosperity of Wayne County agriculture.
Johnson has been the animal science instructor at WCC for 18 years. She has been involved in the agricultural community for many years, participating in the National FFA Organization in high school and in an agriculture advocacy group at North Carolina State University (NCSU), where she attended and majored in animal science.
Additionally, Johnson is a member and former chair of the Chamber鈥檚 agriculture affairs committee. She is second vice president of the Wayne County Livestock Development Association, a member of the Wayne County Cooperative Extension Advisory Board, and a graduate of the Karl Best Agricultural Leadership Program where she now serves on the advisory committee.
Johnson is a graduate of NCSU鈥檚 College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Agricultural Leadership program and of Leadership Wayne where she now serves as a regent. She has also served on the county鈥檚 Junior Leadership committee.
