Last Minute Gift Idea – Wayne County Reads’ 2019 Book

December 18, 2018

The book that Wayne County Reads has selected for its 2019 鈥渟eason of reading鈥 might be a perfect gift this season.

The 15th book in the annual 鈥渙ne book, one community鈥 program is the New York Times bestseller, Educated by Tara Westover. Educated recounts a young woman鈥檚 struggles to gain an education and through that, a way out of her harsh life with her survivalist family.

Free public programs will be held during the month of March 2019, and will focus on lifelong learning and its role in building resiliency.

In addition to discussing selected books鈥 literary merits, WCR provides programs such as lectures, demonstrations, and films that explore the issues in the books.

The Wayne County Public Library has several copies for lending, with more on the way. An electronic version can also be downloaded from the library鈥檚 website.

For those who would like to purchase their own copy, the Books-A-Million store in Goldsboro has this title in stock.

Wayne County Read鈥檚 core community partners are 黑料正能量, University of Mount Olive, Wayne County Public Library, Wayne County Public Schools, and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Library.
