Rhodes Receives WCC Student Leadership Award

Associate Degree Nursing student Hannah Rhodes is the recipient of 黑料正能量鈥檚 2026 Governor Robert W. Scott Student Leadership Award.

The award highlights an outstanding curriculum student鈥檚 leadership and service. It honors former Gov. Bob Scott, who served as the state鈥檚 chief executive from 1968鈥1972 and president of the North Carolina Community College System from 1983鈥1995.

Rhodes is vice president of WCC鈥檚 Student Government Association and has served as an SGA officer for three years. She is also an officer of WCC鈥檚 Associate Degree Nursing Club for the class of 2027 and is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Rhodes has helped organize several campus events, such as Fall Fest, Trunk-or-Treat, and the Back to School Bash. She has also assisted with recruiting activities, including new student orientation and leading campus tours.

In addition to her leadership roles at WCC, Rhodes is involved in the community. She has volunteered with the Salvation Army, in her church, and with local middle and high school soccer teams as a coach.

鈥淚 strive to motivate others by recognizing their abilities, strengths, and continuous growth in a healthy environment that fosters collaboration,鈥 Rhodes wrote in an essay on leadership. 鈥淏y leading as an example and showing compassion and accountability, I allow those around me to feel valued and heard, creating an environment where we can all strive to do our best.鈥

Rhodes was honored as the award winner at WCC鈥檚 Student Recognition Ceremony held this month.
