The group explored the Center for Industrial Technology and Engineering (CITE), WCC鈥檚 newest building. CITE is home to many programs in the College鈥檚 Applied Technologies division.

The tour also included a stop in the Spruce Building, where WCC鈥檚 new state-of-the-art cybersecurity lab is located. Designed to mirror real-world environments, the lab equips students with hands-on experience in ethical hacking, network monitoring, and other critical defense strategies that employers demand.

Pfeiffer also led the officials to WCC鈥檚 Pine Building, where the College鈥檚 nursing programs are housed. The building is currently undergoing renovations to accommodate anticipated enrollment growth, ultimately helping address the statewide nursing shortage by increasing the number of students WCC accepts into its programs.

鈥淲e were honored to welcome Representative Murphy to campus and to share the many exciting initiatives taking place at WCC,鈥 said Pfeiffer. 鈥淏uilding strong relationships with our elected officials is vital to ensuring we can continue expanding high-quality educational and workforce training opportunities for our community.鈥

Murphy represents the third district of North Carolina.
