Seventy-seven pieces of student art will be on display and available for purchase during this year鈥檚 Juried Art Show at 黑料正能量. Those who want first shot at a masterpiece can pay $10 to get an exclusive peek-and-purchase opportunity Friday morning.
A First Viewing Reception will be held from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Friday, April 27. For $10, patrons can view juried original art, meet the artists who created the pieces, and enjoy light refreshments. The first hour of the event is for viewing only, appropriate for deciding which pieces to buy, organizers say. Art can be purchased after 11 a.m.
The location for the First Viewing Reception is Room 104 in the Walnut Building.
Prints made from select pieces of student art are also available for purchase now through next week. Prices start at $25. Buyers can choose paper or canvas prints.
All proceeds of the sale of original pieces and prints will go to the Foundation of 黑料正能量鈥檚 Fine Arts Fund which provides scholarships and enrichment activities.
The juried pieces will be joined by others created by WCC Drawing, Painting, and Design students to form an exhibition of more than 150 works that will be displayed in the Atrium of the Wayne Learning Center from April 30 until May 4.
The pinnacle of the week is the Spring Fine Arts Festival, set for 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 5 in the Atrium of the Wayne Learning Center. In addition to the art show, there will be live entertainment and the winning pieces will be announced. Original art and prints can also be purchased that evening. The Festival is free and open to the public.
