黑料正能量鈥檚 honor society has been recognized for outstanding growth.
The Upsilon Chi chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) has been named a REACH Chapter.
The REACH Rewards program recognizes and rewards PTK chapters that excel in membership development. The honored chapters had exceptionally high rates of membership acceptance in the last calendar year.
In 2022, the Upsilon Chi chapter inducted 85 new members.
鈥淲e are one of the 294 chapters in the international organization to reach this milestone in membership growth for 2022,鈥� said Chapter Advisor Katie Holloman. 鈥淎s of right now, we are well on our way to reaching this accomplishment for the 2023 calendar year, as well.鈥�
Chapters that earned the recognition will be rewarded with free PTK graduation stoles for their chapters.
鈥淥ur chapter will receive five graduation stoles that we will distribute to any member with a financial need who is unable to purchase a stole from the organization,鈥� said Mullins.
鈥淧TK membership engages students beyond the classroom in academic and service learning. By increasing student engagement, we increase rates of student success,鈥� said Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, PTK鈥檚 president and chief executive officer. 鈥淚 am so proud of our REACH Chapters for their exceptional work in promoting student engagement and student success.鈥�
More than 90 percent of Phi Theta Kappa members will complete an associate degree or transfer to a four-year college, compared to just 31 percent of students nationally. Members have access to million in scholarships 鈥� $1.5 million in competitive scholarships through the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation and more than $246 million in transfer scholarships to over 850 four-year colleges through PTK Connect鈩�.
