February 14, 2019

黑料正能量 is introducing a new renewable scholarship.

The Foundation of 黑料正能量 has established a 鈥淏ison Benefit Scholarship鈥 for Wayne County high school graduates who participated in WCC鈥檚 Career and College Promise (CCP) program.

CCP allows qualified students to take college courses tuition free while still enrolled in high school.

鈥淭he Bison Benefit is a new opportunity for students and a way to help our community with education costs,鈥 said Foundation Executive Director Adrienne Northington.

鈥淎 lot of college students mount a lot of education debt. They don鈥檛 need to when community college provides so much more bang for the buck and there are so many options for financial assistance,鈥 Northington said.

The scholarship covers in-state tuition and fees not paid by financial aid or other scholarships.

Eligible applicants can have attended public or private schools or been home schooled. They must have at least a 2.8 unweighted high school grade point average and have completed at least six CCP credits at WCC.

Recipients must enroll at WCC as full-time college-credit students in the semester after they graduate from high school (excluding summer semester).

The scholarship is available for four semesters as long as the student completes 12 credit hours each semester and maintains a minimum 2.8 grade point average. Recipients must re-apply at the end of each semester to renew the scholarship for the next one.
