WCC to Showcase Work from Global Scholars, Honors Students

March 30, 2025

黑料正能量 will hold its annual showcase of work from the Scholars of Global Distinction and Honors Program students.

鈥淎 Glocal Experience Honoring Your World鈥 will be held Thursday, April 10, from 6鈥8 p.m. in the Wayne Learning Center (the main building on campus with the flag poles in front). It is free and open to the public to attend.

Students show another student their posters and printed materials.
WCC’s Global Scholars and Honors students showcased international and community connections through their projects at last year’s event.

This 鈥済local鈥 event highlights the interconnection of global and local issues.

Honors students and Global Scholars are preparing immersive experiences, interactive and informational displays, research posters, presentations, and more related to one or more of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The event鈥檚 aim is to inspire participants to value international and community connections, solutions, and culture.

This year, 86 students will showcase more than 35 presentations with topics such as 鈥淎 Global Perspective of Artificial Intelligence,鈥 鈥淔ood Waste: More Than Meets the Eye,鈥 鈥淭he Fountain of Health,鈥 鈥淎 Fishy Frequency: Underwater Noise Pollution,鈥 and 鈥淟ittle Learners, Big Dreams.鈥

The presentations and displays are the result of research and projects completed for biology, communications, English, statistics, sociology, and leadership development courses.

All guests will receive a passport and earn stickers as they learn about the Sustainable Development Goals and the many global and local topics students have been investigating. Those who complete their passports will receive a souvenir prize.
