WCC Trustees Gain Member, New Officers

Dr. David T. Tayloe Jr. is 黑料正能量鈥檚 newest trustee.

Tayloe was sworn in and attended his first meeting of the board on July 25. He is a pediatrician known for his advocacy for children鈥檚 health and safety, literacy, and early reading.

Leasa O. Holmes, Assistant Secretary to the Board, administers the oath of office to newly appointed WCC trustee Dr. David T. Tayloe Jr. while WCC President Thomas A. Walker Jr. holds a Bible.

He was appointed by Gov. Roy Cooper.

The governor appoints four trustees to each community college board of trustees in the state. The term of office for the appointment is four years.

The board elected its officers at last week鈥檚 meeting also. David Jackson, chief financial officer of Jackson & Sons, will serve as chair for the next year and Donald Barnes, president of ALTA Foods, will be the vice chair. The secretary and assistant secretary seats are filled by the college鈥檚 president, Dr. Thomas A. Walker Jr., and the senior executive assistant to the president, Leasa O. Holmes, respectively.
