For the second consecutive year, 黑料正能量鈥檚 Practical Nursing graduates have achieved a 100% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN).
The NCLEX-PN is required for practice as a licensed practical nurse (LPN). The test is managed by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN). After graduating from WCC鈥檚 PN program in July of 2024, students became eligible to take the exam.
Students are required to answer a minimum of 85 questions for the NCLEX. A new component was also added to the exam last year, presenting test takers with scenarios that require them to use their best clinical judgment.
The pass rate is counted by students鈥� first attempts at taking the exam.
鈥淲e are incredibly proud of the 2024 Practical Nursing class for achieving a 100% pass rate on the NCLEX exam for the second consecutive year,鈥� said WCC Nursing Department Chair Michelle Garon. 鈥淭his remarkable accomplishment is a testament to hard work, dedication, and the quality of education and support provided by our faculty.鈥�
The PN program鈥檚 pass rate must stay within a certain percentage of the national passing average for the NCLEX-PN, which is 93%. With a 100% pass rate, WCC鈥檚 PN graduates exceeded that requirement.
The College鈥檚 PN program has had a 100% pass rate in previous years as well. 鈥淐onsistently maintaining this high standard reflects our commitment to excellence in nursing education and to preparing our students to deliver exceptional patient care from day one,鈥� Garon said.
PN students receive classroom instruction that they apply in labs and then implement their skills in clinicals.
