College Credit for Military Training
CLEP General & Subject Examinations: There are 34 tests that measure college level achievement in 铿乿e main areas: English Composition, Humanities, Mathematics, Natural Science, and Social Sciences and History. Colleges may award 3 to 12 semester hours of college credit for successful completion. Visit the website for more information.
Dantes Subject Standardized Tests (DSSTs): The DSSTs cover both college level subject matter and vocational/ technical matter. Tests are available in 37 subject areas. Colleges may award you up to 3 (three) semester hours of college credit for each test successfully passed. Visit the website for more information.
CLEP and DSSTs exams are free, one time, to active duty and active reserve members. Retirees, DoD civilian employees, family members, and civilians attending on-颅鈥恇ase schools may test for a nominal fee.
Passing CLEP and DANTES scores in English, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Humanities, and Mathematics can equal credit for classes o铿ered in these areas at 黑料正能量. For a listing of CLEP, DANTES and other standardized exams, please select Credit by Examination.
MILITARY EVALUATIONS
WCC O铿ers evaluations of Military experience for all active duty and retired military personnel. In order to have an o铿僣ial military evaluation completed, which may result in transfer credits, you will need:
- 鈥 O铿僣ial copy of your military transcript.
- 鈥 O铿僣ial transcripts from your high school & any other colleges attended.
- 鈥 Completed application for WCC Admissions process.
College Credit from Prior Institutions
Transcripts from all prior institutions should be submitted to WCC’s Admissions and Records department during the application process.
All transcripts will be evaluated on a case by case basis to assess transferability into a 黑料正能量 degree program.
TRANSFER APPLICANTS
Transfer students may enter 黑料正能量 upon meeting requirements as outlined in the . Official transcripts from all previous colleges/universities are required for consideration of transfer credit. Transfer credit will be awarded whenever possible.
TRANSFER OF CREDITS
Educational work taken at a regionally accredited institution in which a grade of 鈥淐鈥 or better was earned may be accepted in transfer.
Credits for transfer courses are not used in the computation of the student鈥檚 grade point average in the student鈥檚 program at 黑料正能量.
TRANSFER CREDITS TOWARD GRADUATION
A minimum of 25 percent of semester hours, with a minimum of nine semester hours in the program, must be earned through 黑料正能量 curriculum enrollment.
Transferability of all courses between NC Community Colleges and The University of North Carolina System is governed by the聽.
